Whenever you ask the majority of people to mention places they’re dying to travel tothey will usually rattle off at least 10 cities or countries. But, ask them “when” they intend to visit and you often get silence. What exactly are you expecting? Make a difference in 2012 and resolve to travel to 5 new places.

  1. Choose a close by town or city to see: you don’t have to traveling far to discover new places! Begin your year off right by going to a nearby city or town that you have never seen before. Seek advice from friends and family for tips on places to eat, museums to see and other sites to find out.
  2. Dream big! Select one city you’d like to visit within the next 5 years: big trips take a lot of planning! Interested in Egypt at some stage in the near future? Start researching your vacation options and vacation spots now. Once you can ballpark the expense of such a trip, start stashing away money now. It might sound silly to begin saving now, but if you can save just $100 monthly, you will have $6,000 saved by the time year 5 comes to a close!
  3. Let your spouse choose adestination: frequently our significant others possess different travel passions than us and get us thinking away from our comfort zone. Let your partner pick adestination to long weekend trip or special vacation. Then, communicate to choose a trip that combines both interests.
  4. Meet the girls (or guys!) for some time weekend: take a trip to a spa, check out baseball arenas in multiple stadiums or meet the gang in another fun spot. Trips with friends give you a nice break from your rigors of everyday life and so many different personalities can make for fun trips with unanticipated activities!
  5. Keep a travel journal: whether or not you keep notes in a regular notebook or begin a blog to chronicle your travels, recording your experiences is a good way to think on (and remember!) what you’ve done. Reading your journal can alsoinspire motivation for future trips, too!
